A Jessicat’s Medi-Spa client Performing Home Microneedling & Red LED Light Therapies For Increased Hair Growth

It’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional before using any of the products listed in this blog.
A few years ago, I helped a client who was quoted by a leading hair regrowth chain in Perth over $2000 for being set up at home with a microneedling pen and topical products to use in conjunction with at-home Microneedling treatments to promote hair growth. She had hormonal issues, and at the time, her hormones were going crazy, and she was having more hair loss than normal, very thin hair, and a hard time.
Under my guidance, after three months of doing microneedling therapy at home, her hairdresser told her that she had baby hair growing at the top of her head. But she stopped doing it because she’s a busy mom.
The pictures shared above are from a loyal BeautyCat who has been with us for the last 7 years. She started regular microneedling therapy about two months ago (this blog is written on 06/09/2024), under my guidance, with 7 years of experience performing microneedling therapy and with the one-on-one training that she did with me. She is a committed BeautyCat who performs regular microneedling therapy at home on her hands, arms, and now scalp and face. 🙂
TO BE CLEAR, this BeautyCat is using a cheap and effective Hyaluronic Acid and Microneedling pen in conjunction with our RED LED Growth Light. This plate is meant to grow plants on the inside.
Our Silver, Gold and Platinum packages include all clinic-grad skincare products for the face and body and at-home treatment devices, such as microneedling pens, as well as all consumables needed to do all at-home microneedling for hair growth on the scalp.
Only performing comprehensive treatments at proper intervals as part of a comprehensive skincare regime will result in a continuous and dramatic improvement in both cellular turnover and a dramatically thicker and optionally functioning Dermis. Treatments that involve only making the skin pink for a few minutes will not result in the positive effects mentioned.
Hair loss is a hard thing for anyone to bear, but in the case of women, it often carries an additional emotional burden.
We’re writing this blog to raise awareness that while the reasons for hair loss in mature-age women can be complex, the solution can be very simple and cost little.
While hair loss is often associated with men, women also have to deal with this problem, and the aftermath can be devastating. Hair is often tied to a woman’s identity and self-esteem. Losing it may cause the woman to feel vulnerable, anxious, and even depressed. For many women, loss of hair carries more emotional burden than physical issues and it affects almost every aspect of life.
How Common is Hair Loss Among Women in Australia?
According to the Australian Journal of General Practice (AJGP) and the Australasian Journal of Dermatology, hair loss among women is more common than many might think. In Australia, About 49% of women experience hair loss, with Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) being the most common cause, affecting over 800,000 women in Australia. FPHL is characterized by the thinning of hair due to hair follicle miniaturization, influenced by genetic and androgenic factors like testosterone. Hair loss may signal underlying conditions such as hyperandrogenism, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, making screening for metabolic risk factors essential.
What Can Cause Hair Loss in Women?
Hair loss in women can be triggered by various factors, including:
- Hormonal Changes: Pregnancy, menopause, and thyroid imbalances can lead to significant hair loss.
- Medical Conditions: Conditions like alopecia areata, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and autoimmune diseases can contribute to hair thinning and loss.
- Nutritional Deficiencies: Lack of essential nutrients such as iron, vitamin D, and protein can weaken hair and lead to shedding.
- Stress: Physical or emotional stress can cause hair to enter the shedding phase prematurely, leading to noticeable loss.
- Genetics: Family history plays a role, with hereditary hair loss patterns often becoming apparent as women age.
How Do We Treat Hair Loss? NOT with expensive serums, conditioners, supplements and potions!
Expensive elixirs, therapies, and supplements continue to saturate the marketplace, promising miracle solutions. Products such as Nutrafol, Viviscal, and Rogaine boast impressive outcomes in their marketing, but it’s important to approach these with caution.
While some women may see improvements, others may not experience the same benefits. It’s crucial to have realistic expectations and consult with a healthcare professional before investing in these treatments.
As the causes of hair loss among women are very diverse, treatment has to be highly specialized. Treatment ranges from medical treatments like Minoxidil and hormone therapy to lifestyle changes such as improving diet and reducing stress.
Additionally, therapies like PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) are also showing promise in stimulating hair growth. But these treatments DO NOT guarantee you the recovery of your scalp.
