Why Being Able To Wear Less Makeup Helps Us To Look Younger

Why Being Able To Wear Less Makeup Helps Us To Look Younger

The pictures above are of me Makeup-Free.

I am going to be 39 years old in October 2017 and find I am now comfortable wearing a BB cream quickly applied before my clients arrive for their treatments in the morning. Of course I try and get the time to apply a little mascara, make sure to dye my eyebrows regularly, (due to being fair I find darkening my eyebrows helps to bring out my eyes) and apply a little eye shadow and lip gloss, but most of the time I have to admit more and more I get through a working day ala-natural.

Why is this a big deal you ask?

Well, from a young age I religiously wore Foundation and a Compressed Setting Powder due to not liking the look of my skin. Enlarged pores were one problem I was working to conceal on my nose and cheek areas as well as pink and brown patches of pigmentation on my cheeks and overall facial area.

My skin is prone to premature ageing due to genetics (Kiwi/English), poor lifestyle habits in my late teens and early 20’s and just bad luck! I began to notice the skin of my neck area becoming crepey and fine lines and wrinkles developing above my lip and around my eye areas at just 28 years of age.

After trying many different moisturizers and skin care products and not getting the results I wanted I graduated onto high strength chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments. After a couple of years of doing this, my skin began to thin even more quickly and became highly reactive and prone to acne breakouts. I began using Botox injectable therapies and loved the effects and the ease of only needing to do treatments every 3-4 months, however, I quickly had to use more and more and over time even with the regular Botox therapy I began to notice hollows developing under my eyes and a sag in the skin around my mouth and jaw areas.

The doctor providing my Botox therapy advised I use Fillers to lift the areas around my mouth and add volume under the eye areas, and although this worked initially with just a little Filler Therapy quickly I had to use more and more and this began to make my face look strangely puffy. I noticed I was beginning to lose the subtle contours of the features on my face that make me look different to someone who looks similar to me, and I disliked this more than the wrinkles and sagging skin I was working to keep at bay.

I have found that one of the great things about getting older is that you begin to become comfortable with who you are. The experience and knowledge you gain with every passing year enable you to put aside the silly insecurities of youth and you begin to fall in love with the person you are. I was also beginning to appreciate my individual aesthetic appearance in a way I never did when I was younger, and I did not want this appearance to become strangely frozen and puffy.

I knew there was a better way than to use injectable therapies and surgery so I experimented with needling, laser and many other therapies and treatments and talked with many plastic surgeons about treatment options. Over time I came to the understanding why my skin was changing in its appearance and how to solve the problems of premature ageing and not simply band aid the problems that result from thinning skin.

I now know that the problem of thinning skin can be reversed, and is the reason the skin of the face and neck begins to develop fine lines, wrinkles and sagging. The pigmentation of the skin also changes over time, especially in the harsh Australian climate and this too can be corrected instead of masked with heavy makeup.

I have developed processes that target all skin concerns such as uneven pigmentation and reverse the effects of thinning skin by using many different technologies within the same treatment processes, enabling me to change the look of my skin long-term and wear less makeup.

These Pictures Of Me Show The Change I Have Been Able To Achieve In My Skin

The features of the face fall top to bottom as we age due to thinning skin and the complexion can become scared with fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots and darkening patches of pigmentation due to sun damage and hormonal changes.

Working to hide pigmentation problems with makeup may work in your youth, but as fine lines and wrinkles develop makeup can build up in parts of the skin throughout the day and actually highlight imperfections. In the Australian Summer, it can be difficult to get around with heavy makeup due to sweat and the effects of air conditioning so investing time and money into perfecting the look of your skin instead of disguising imperfections I feel is a better way to go.

As my skin has improved in texture, tone and overall pigmentation I am able to wear little or no makeup and whilst my skin is far from perfect I feel it looks youthful overall and feel confident enough to not be using any injectable therapies at this time and only a light weight mineral BB cream throughout the day to even out the look of my skin tone.

If a client comes early for a treatment session and catches me without my makeup on I am no longer embarrassed and I quite often pop down to the shops fresh faced and not needing to rush into the bathroom to apply makeup before heading out, (my husband is a lot happier about this also as he no longer needs to stand around waiting for me).

I feel having skin that is thick, soft and healthy with even overall skin tone is the best makeup a girl can have.

There are enough things to worry about in our day to day lives and I am so glad the appearance of my skin is no longer one of them.

The above pictures are of my 4-Stage Face Lifting Process.

For more information on this process please follow the link provided: https://jessicatsmedispa.com.au/jessicats-4-stage-face-lift/

I offer all new clients a full 4-Stage Face Lifting Treatment for just $199 when they come for a first treatment/consultation. This enables them to experience my premium treatment process which works to thicken, tighten and soften the skin long-term and improve overall pigmentation. Throughout this treatment session, we are able to discuss their individual needs whilst I assess the condition of their skin and explain how my unique treatment processes work and the technologies I use to provide them.

I hope you have enjoyed my blog and encourage you to contact me with any questions you might have regarding my services. It has taken me a long time to find the technologies I now use to provide my unique treatment processes and understand how confusing it can be to find the right treatments for your individual needs.

Learning is power to take the power of knowledge into your hands!
