I advise my clients to use topical skincare products minimally, in favour of using Microcurrent therapy for 3-6 minutes morning and night, and Red LED Light therapy every second day ongoing.

Due to understanding Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) is a mature age woman’s best friend, and using a Microcurrent device for 3-6 minutes 1-2 times daily triggers the highest levels or new collagen and elastin production possible within the skin cells, due to raising ATP by up to 500%.

I do NOT advise my clients to use a Vitamin C cream or serum to maintaining skin health or help reverse damage within the skin cells.

WHY??

Once ATP levels have been raised by 500% it is simply impossible for them to do any more than they are doing.

Think of charging your phone.
Does leaving the phone on charge for longer once it is 100% charged to make your phone work any better?
The answer of course is NO!
So why would you slather on a Vitamin C serum after raising your ATP levels by 500%?
Once the skin cells energy levels are charged fully (ATP is the very energy currency that fuels a bodies cells) by using a high-quality Microcurrent device (such as a Tua Spa, or bt-micro) for 3-6 minutes, applying a Vitamin C cream or serum will do NOTHING to improve the skins health or functionality due to the cell already performing at the highest possible level of its ability.
Topical Vitamin C products can raise ATP levels, but it is like a drop in the ocean when compared to raising ATP by 500%!
All of my clients use a cheap and effective Hyaluronic acid serum or gel in conjunction with their daily Microcurrent therapy and use a sunscreen or cheap and effective moisturiser such as Cetaphil or Moogoo to seal the Hyaluronic acid molecules into the skin.
Hyaluronic acid is like a big drink of water to the skin cells and when we were young our thick healthy skin contained a rich level of Hyaluronic acid molecules within its layers.
As we mature and the skin thins our skin holds less, so it makes sense when choosing a moisturizer to go straight to the source of pure hydration, being Hyaluronic acid and Glycerin.
Glycerin is very sticky, so we keep its use for the face minimal, adding just a dash to our topical products to give our skin a dewy fresh look.
Hyaluronic acid is famed for being able to hold 1000 times its own weight in water and serums should be applied to very damp skin so it can bind with water molecules and drag them into the skin cells.

SO, WHEN DO I ADVISE CLIENTS TO USE A VITAMIN C PRODUCT?

Preparing New Clients Skin For A Course Of Treatments.
Committing to a course of treatments costs a substantial amount of money, so I do not advise clients purchase a Microcurrent device whilst waiting for their treatments to start.
I need to cover all my bases and recommend all new clients use a high strength Vitamin C product to improve the cellular health of their skin, (minimally compared to the use of a Microcurrent device, but it is better than nothing) and inhibit the production of melanin to decrease the risk of Post Inflammatory Pigmentation (PIP), caused from treatments that cause inflammation in the skin such as the Venus Viva and Collagen Induction Fractional Microneedling treatments I provide do.
I INSIST all new clients prepare their skin by performing 20 minutes Red LED Light treatments every day, or every second day, using a cheap and effective LED Light device,  for a couple of weeks before starting treatments. This kick starts the skin cells into functioning optimally, more as it did in our late 20s’ and early 30s.
MANY CLINICS RECOMMEND YOU PAY FOR IN-CLINIC LED LIGHT TREATMENTS TO PREP THE SKIN, BUT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO DO THIS NOW THAT AT-HOME DEVICE TECHNOLOGY HAS BECOME SO POWERFUL AND EASILY ACCESSIBLE 😀
Red LED Light therapy raises ATP levels by up to 47%, which is like a drop in the ocean when compared to Microcurrent devices raising it by 500% in as little as 3-6 minutes, however, Red LED Light therapy is so powerful I have personally used it to help heal a 70-year-old client’s broken wrist and substantially decrease the look of scar tissue in record speed.
Any technology that has a profound healing effect often has an incredible beautifying effect, which is why Red LED Light therapy improves the condition of our skin in a far more impactful way than topical Vitamin C products.
Whilst it would be better if all clients used Microcurrent devices for a couple of weeks before starting a course of treatments due to it raising ATP levels by 500% in just 3-6 minutes, this is an extra expense I want to save my new clients initially.
Microcurrent therapy feels like you are doing nothing at all, so it is VERY important to educate new clients on why they need to perform daily  Microcurrent therapy, otherwise, they may purchase and device, use it a few times, then forget about using it. I work very hard to educate my clients ongoing whilst providing their treatments, so they understand the ageing process, and why we use technologies like Microcurrent and Red LED Light therapy in place of expensive and unnecessary topical skincare products.
The Microcurrent devices I sell are around $300, so keeping this expense for after clients have achieved the results they want and deserve is important, and them using it in between their maintenance treatments, done every 1-2 months enables us to work as the ultimate team to combat the effects of the natural ageing process.
Often after completing a treatment package and purchasing a Microcurrent device for home use clients stop using Vitamin C products unless they are particularly prone to pigmentation issues such as Melasma.
When pigmentation is a concern, or clients are exposed to the sun excessively due to harsh working conditions I DO advise the use of a topical Vitamin C product.

Here are some cheap, and easily purchased Vitamin C products to consider: my clients have used successfully:

-The Ordinary brand’s Vitamin C is made up of 23% of pure L-Ascorbic Acid, which is the pure form of Vitamin C.

Mature age skin and some more sensitive skin types may react to products containing pure L-Ascorbic Acid.
-If the skin is sensitive then trying theOrdinary brand’s Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F 30mlmay be a better idea.
Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is an oil-soluble derivative of Vitamin C and causes far less irritation like problems to sensitive skin than using pure L-Ascorbic Acid does.
Moogoo is another cheap and effective product for very sensitive skin and is easily found in many chemists or online.
-I sometimes personally help my clients to purchase chemist compounded Vitamin C and B products (we will leave talking about all the benefits of vitamin B in another blog, but for now I will mention it works to help improve pigmentation, and improve moisture levels, however, please keep in mind Hyaluronic acid should be your go-to when working to hydrate the skin deeply, and Microcurrent and Red LED Light therapies will give your skin a FAR MORE IMPACTUAL GLOW than Vitamin C and B products, so DON’T get sucked into thinking they are where your money should be spent unless pigmentation is a concern).
I do this due to our sometimes wanting stronger products that have no extra chemicals added to extend shelf life or serve as fillers that may lessen the overall effectiveness of products.
This said, I always tell my clients they can purchase more cost-effective products via the internet, and only on-sell the more expensive chemist compounded products to clients who are seeing me minimally and are set up at home with technology that will gain them the very best ongoing effects, due to wanting my clients to get as much bang for their buck as possible and NOT get caught up thinking youth can be found in GOOP!

I hope you have found this info helpful! I know how very hard it was for me over the last 20 years to find the answers I was looking for and be able to combat the natural ageing process effectively and spend my money on what could actually help reverse the problem of thinning skin. Jessicat Xxx
